Just for fun – Aliens among us
It has become a popular “belief” that we have (and/or are being) visited by ETs. This belief is very controversial and the vast amount of so called evidence that I have seen is circumstantial and subject to alternative interpretation. This belief is almost as greatly accepted as the belief in a supreme deity. In fact over 50%, according to a recent poll, believe! “Ancient Aliens: This concept asserts that we have been visited eons ago by aliens from other worlds. The oldest documented evidence exists in the Sumerian cuneiform texts from circa 3,000 BC. These texts speak of the Anunnaki (those who from the heavens came to earth). Speculation is that this group of “gods” came to earth in search of gold. Vedic literature written in Sanskrit prior to any written biblical texts speaks of various “gods” and their competition (wars) for domination of our species. The bible, in the book of Genesis, circa 1200 BC, speaks of the Nephilim /ˈnɛfɨˌlɪm/ (Hebrew: נפילים) were offspring of the “sons of God” and the “daughters of men”. Some interpret from the book of Enoch that we was transported into the heavens, given advanced knowledge and then was returned to the earth (presumably by aliens?). Further there is speculation that Ezekiel’s vision was actually an alien spaceship that we was attempting to describe in terms of what he understood (at the time). I could go on and on and site similar examples of other cultures which openly recognize the existence of the “star people (gods)” which include the indigenous tribes of North & South America, The Greeks, the Romans, China, Africa, etc.”
Modern Day Aliens: Again, there is a considerable belief that we are being “watched” and certain cases abducted by aliens. There is also considerable speculation that various governments are not only aware of the alien presence, but are actively conspiring to conceal this “fact”. There is no doubt in my mind that those persons that have experience personal contact with “alien events” do not categorize this matter as a “belief”. For them it is a fact. While a great many of these events have been explained away, there are many that have not. I do not have time here to go into detail, but if you are interested I would encourage you to check out a few of the following events, that really give me pause:

I’m not saying there are not logical explanations for the preceding examples, but……
I have heard folks debating about the dangers of the alien intrusion. My view, assuming that ETs exist, is that any civilization that has the technology to bridge either the vast distances or alternate dimensions are so far ahead of us technologically that resistance would be futile. They could exterminate us in short order if that was their intention. I would rather suspect that they would view us as a primitive species that might be worthy of study and possibly manipulation. One other possibility is that we provide a bit of entertainment, not unlike a visit to the zoo.
Realistically, what are the chances that we are really alone in the local universe (recent thinking is that we are just one verse among the multiverse)? The math would indicate that we are not. Thanks to the Hubble telescope we now know that as many 20% of the solar systems in our galaxy have rocky planets within the “goldilocks” zone. That computes to about 30 Billion chances. If you multiply that by the 100+ Billion Galaxies, then…….. That’s the number 3 with 22 zeros!! In my opinion, they are out there. The problem, as I see it, is both distance and time frames. We have only had sentient life for a very short time and we are so very far away from even the closest solar system with a chance at life.

With a mass at least 5.5 times that of the Earth, it is classified as a super-Earth (a planet of 1 to 10 Earth masses). At the time of discovery, it was the smallest known extrasolar planet around a main-sequence star but on April 21, 2009, another planet orbiting Gliese 581, Gliese 581 e, with an approximate mass of 1.9 Earth masses, was announced.”
This system is 20.3 light years distant. At our current top speed of .007% of the speed of light the journey would take 300,000 years one way. You get the idea.
