My Songs

I have never had a lick of musical talent. I had 3 years of piano, but it was by force and I was terrible. I tried the guitar and gave it up in short order. Before my voice changed, I did a decent job in our church’s boys’ choir. I even fancied myself a talent—all that changed at about age 14 when my voice started to mature.

Regardless, I do appreciate other persons’ musical talent. I was an Elvis fan in the late 50s and was seduced by the Beatle’s “I Want to Hold Your Hand” in December 1963. In the early 70s, I enjoyed James Taylor & Niel Diamond (Sweet Caroline has become a staple at Rugby 7s tournaments and other sporting events).
